Four men were arrested in two separate robbery cases in Delhi, police announced Sunday. The recovered items include gold jewellery, cash, and a semi-automatic pistol used in the crimes.
In the first incident reported on May 28 in Pul Prahladpur, two 19-year-olds — Sabir and Shahid, both residents of the same locality — were arrested after a swift investigation based on a tip-off. The duo confessed to the crime, and two gold chains worth Rs5.5 lakh were recovered from them. Notably, Shahid was also previously involved in a theft case registered in 2022 at the Inderpuri police station.
The second incident occurred on May 27 in Dayalpur, where Mukul (38), a Brahmpuri resident and SBI Customer Service Point operator, was robbed at gunpoint around 8:15 PM. Two assailants on a bike intercepted him and fled with a bag containing Rs1 to Rs1.5 lakh in cash and documents.
Following extensive analysis of over 50 CCTV cameras, police identified and arrested the culprits — Rizwan (24) and Ashif (26), both from Nehru Vihar. They admitted to the robbery during interrogation. Police recovered Rs5,000 in cash, the stolen documents, a semi-automatic pistol, and the scooter used in the crime.
Further investigation is ongoing in both cases, according to Delhi Police.
