COLUMBIA COUNTY, Ga. — Ryan Thomas Manley, a former Richmond County teacher, was arrested on July 3rd by the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office for allegedly possessing explicit images of children.
Authorities found approximately 40 images of Child Sexual Assault Material at Manley’s residence on Calloway Drive in Evans. He faces charges of Sexual Exploitation of Children and is currently held in the Columbia County Jail.
Manley, 43, was most recently employed as the media specialist at Richmond Hill Middle School. According to the Richmond County School System, his last day was May 28th, five days after the school year ended on May 23rd.
During the 2023–2024 school year, Manley had also been listed as a 7th-grade Social Studies teacher on the school’s website. The Richmond County School System confirmed his departure from the district.
The investigation remains ongoing.
