Ryan M. Newman, a 33-year-old convicted sex offender from Corning, has pleaded guilty to producing child sexual abuse materials and will serve at least 25 years in prison, U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross announced on February 12.

Newman, who had been previously convicted in 2012, faces a potential sentence of up to 50 years and a fine of up to $250,000 for his crimes. The investigation into his activities began in 2021 when Snapchat flagged illicit content associated with him.

In 2022, a search of Newman’s residence uncovered additional child pornography, although he was not immediately arrested. However, in 2024, the FBI traced explicit materials sent to an undercover agent back to Newman, leading to his arrest.

Newman’s sentencing is scheduled for June 11, and he is also facing additional charges in Steuben County Court.
