Ontario man taken into custody for failing to appear in court

by Sophia Bennett

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of 39-year-old Ryan Lawliss, a resident of the Town of Ontario, on an outstanding warrant issued by Walworth Town Court.

Lawliss was wanted for failing to appear in court in connection with a petit larceny charge. Authorities located and apprehended him at the Wayne County Jail, where he was already being held on unrelated charges.

Following his arrest, Lawliss was brought before the Centralized Arraignment Part and subsequently released.

As with all criminal cases, the charges are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
