BUCKS COUNTY, Pa. — A man was arrested Tuesday after allegedly stealing a U-Haul truck, crashing into multiple vehicles, and leading police on several chases across Bucks County, according to the Bensalem Township Police Department.
The incident began around 8:30 a.m. on Dec. 30 when Bristol Township Police alerted Bensalem officers that a stolen U-Haul had entered Interstate 95 after striking another vehicle. Police later identified the driver as Ryan Laskowski, 38, and issued a warrant for his arrest.
Authorities said Laskowski repeatedly returned to a neighborhood throughout the day, crashing into additional vehicles, including a Pennsylvania State Police patrol car. Troopers initiated a pursuit that ended near an ACME grocery store on Bristol Road, where the U-Haul struck a Bensalem police vehicle, a fence, and a fire hydrant.
Police said the pursuit continued until about 3:30 p.m., when Laskowski crashed into another vehicle near the intersection of Bristol Road and Grandview Avenue.
Laskowski was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and is being held as a prisoner. He is expected to be formally arraigned on charges including theft of a motor vehicle, felony fleeing and eluding, reckless endangerment, and other related offenses.
