The Brentwood Police Department has announced the arrest of two men in connection with a golf cart theft early Saturday morning. At approximately 2:30 AM, officers responded to a report of two suspects stealing golf carts in the 100 block of Summerset Drive. The theft was monitored in real-time by the reporting party via live video surveillance.

In an effort to locate the suspects, a Brentwood officer, trained as a drone pilot, deployed a drone. The drone helped officers identify one suspect, who had abandoned a stolen golf cart and attempted to flee on foot.

38-year-old Ryan Freedle from Antioch was quickly apprehended. Shortly after, 29-year-old Michael Martinez from Brentwood was found hiding in front of a nearby residence and was also detained. Both stolen golf carts were recovered.

Freedle, who is on probation for burglary and grand theft, and Martinez, who had several outstanding warrants, face charges including vehicle theft, possession of burglary tools, probation violation, and other related offenses. The suspects were transported to the Martinez Detention Facility for booking.
