In a tragic case of child abuse and murder, the Indiranagar police have arrested Rubina, a woman accused of fatally beating her six-year-old niece, Aisa. The arrest came late Saturday night near Chandan Karbala road, following a murder complaint filed by the child’s father, Samsuddin.
Aisa, the daughter of Samsuddin from Mahmoodabad, Sitapur, was sent to live with her maternal aunt Rubina in Chandan village, Lucknow, three months prior for religious education. On June 28, the child died under suspicious circumstances. Rubina informed the family, and Samsuddin transported the body to Sitapur without notifying the police.
However, while preparing for the burial, relatives discovered multiple injury marks on Aisa’s body, prompting local authorities to get involved. The Sitapur police conducted a postmortem, which revealed six injury marks, including a severe head injury, indicating physical assault as the cause of death.
Following the postmortem report, the Indiranagar police registered an FIR on July 8, charging Rubina with murder.
