The Goa Police have arrested Royson Rodrigues (51), a resident of Marna-Siolim, on May 8, in connection with a 2022 land grabbing case involving property in Assagao, under the jurisdiction of Mapusa Police.
Rodrigues, already facing charges in six other land fraud cases, is accused of forging legal documents and impersonating legal heirs to fraudulently transfer ownership of survey no. 78/2 in Assagao.
According to officials, this latest arrest is part of a broader crackdown on real estate fraud and property encroachment cases in North Goa. Police believe Rodrigues was part of a larger network exploiting gaps in property registration and heir verification systems.
The investigation is ongoing, with authorities reviewing similar property deals linked to Rodrigues in and around Mapusa.
