Suspects used forged documents to drain bank accounts of vanished couple this summer

Two suspects have been arrested for allegedly stealing $2.8 million from the bank accounts of a missing Long Island couple.

Roy Wang and Qiuju Wu were taken into custody after investigators uncovered evidence that they used forged documents to access and drain the accounts of Peishuan Fan and JuanJuan Zwang, who disappeared in late March along with their two sons.

Police arrested Wang in California and Wu in Texas. Surveillance footage shows the pair withdrawing large sums from New York banks. Authorities say Wu’s name had been fraudulently added to the couple’s account, allowing them to access the funds quickly over several days this summer.

Court documents reveal that when Wang was arrested, he was found with credit cards under various names, bank statements, checks, a New York driver’s license, and a New Jersey tax refund check.

Both suspects have ties to New York; Wu previously lived in Flushing, while Wang had resided in College Point and Roslyn.

Meanwhile, the missing couple’s two sons are reportedly in China. An attorney for their 20-year-old son declined to comment on the arrests.

No evidence has been disclosed linking Wang and Wu directly to the disappearance of the couple.
