Roxanne Ingram Charged in Suspected Islamophobic Assault in Toronto

Toronto woman faces assault and hate crime charges over hijab-related attack

A Toronto woman, Roxanne Ingram, 52, has been charged following an alleged Islamophobic assault targeting a victim wearing a hijab in North York.

The incident occurred on July 10 near Finch Avenue West and Weston Road at approximately 2:10 p.m., according to Toronto police.

Investigators report that Ingram approached the victim, made Islamophobic comments, and assaulted them. She was arrested and charged with assault and breach of probation.

Ingram appeared in bail court on July 11. Authorities are treating the case as a suspected hate-motivated offense.
