In a major breakthrough, Rourkela Police arrested two men and recovered gold and diamond ornaments worth Rs12 lakh, dismantling a well-organised inter-state theft syndicate, officials said on Monday.
The accused have been identified as Shambhu Kumar Singh (45), a habitual offender from Jamshedpur with over a dozen cases since 2012, and Ankit Raj Kumar (21), also from Jamshedpur.
According to police, the syndicate was uncovered during investigations into multiple theft cases registered at Sector-19 and Sector-7 Police Stations. During remand, the accused led officers to Jharkhand, where the stolen jewellery was recovered.
The recovered property includes:

2 gold chains
9 gold rings
4 pairs of gold earrings
1 diamond finger ring
