WADENA, Minn. (Valley News Live) — Ross Reichel, 55, of Staples, Minnesota, was arrested last week after leading authorities on a lengthy ATV chase in Wadena County.

The Wadena County Sheriff’s Office responded to a trespassing report in Thomastown Township on Thursday. When officers arrived, Reichel fled on an ATV into a wooded area.

After a four-hour search using a drone, authorities located Reichel in a nearby cornfield. Despite requests, he refused to surrender, prompting the deployment of a K9 unit which ultimately apprehended him.

A subsequent search of Reichel’s residence uncovered approximately $28,000 worth of stolen property.

He now faces charges of burglary and fleeing from law enforcement. The investigation is ongoing.
