KIRKSVILLE, Mo. — Two Kirksville residents are in custody after a major drug bust led to the seizure of methamphetamine, cocaine, and weapons.
Authorities with the North Missouri Drug Task Force, Adair County Sheriff’s Office, Kirksville Police Department, and Missouri State Highway Patrol executed a search warrant Friday at a home on East Burton Street.
The home belonged to Rosa Ruth Melson, 55, and Cody Evart Ralls, 36. Inside, officers discovered approximately one pound of methamphetamine, half a gram of cocaine, and multiple unidentified pills.
Drug paraphernalia was also recovered, including baggies, digital scales, and glass pipes testing positive for meth residue.
In addition to narcotics, police seized several firearms, including pistols, rifles, and a shotgun.
Melson and Ralls were arrested and booked into the Adair County Detention Center. Both face charges of second-degree drug trafficking, a Class A felony, and three counts of controlled substance possession. Ralls faces an additional possession charge.
They are currently being held without bond pending their initial court appearance.
