Ronell Williams Arrested After ATV Chase in Winston-Salem

Suspect faces multiple charges after fleeing police on illegal ATV

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A man was arrested Sunday after leading police on a chase through Winston-Salem while illegally operating an ATV near Miller Park.

According to Winston-Salem Police, officers responded to reports of an ATV being driven on public roads. The suspect, identified as Ronell Williams, 42, was located on Elderwood Avenue.

Williams allegedly committed several traffic violations before resisting a traffic stop and fleeing the scene. He was later apprehended and reportedly assaulted a police officer during the arrest.

Williams faces multiple charges, including:

Resist, Delay, and Obstruct a Public Officer

Assault on a Government Official

He is being held on a $2,000 secured bond.

Police also issued several traffic citations:

Failure to Heed Blue Lights

No Insurance

Failure to Register Vehicle

Failure to Display Registration Plate

Failure to Stop at Stop Sign

Expired Inspection

Failure to Wear Helmet

Improper U-Turn

Turn Signal Violation

Mirror Violation

The ATV was confiscated by authorities. No injuries were reported during the incident.

Police say the investigation is ongoing, and more information will be released when available.
