FARGO, N.D. — A stolen vehicle report from Mapleton early Monday morning led to the arrest of a Fargo man and launched a multi-agency search for a second suspect still at large, authorities said.
According to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 6:00 a.m. on September 8 to a report of a stolen vehicle in Mapleton. Using a vehicle tracking application, law enforcement located the car in Fargo shortly afterward.
By 7:30 a.m., officers found the vehicle in the 100 block of 15th Street South in Fargo, where they observed two suspects inside. Both fled on foot when approached by police.
One suspect, identified as Ronald Wilson, 44, of Fargo, was apprehended and arrested. He was booked into jail on an outstanding warrant from Clay County.
A Fargo Police perimeter, along with support from West Fargo’s K-9 unit, was set up to locate the second suspect. Out of an abundance of caution, a deputy was also stationed near a nearby elementary school during the search.
Despite the efforts, the second suspect remains at large. The Cass County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the incident.
