CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Ronald Jermone McNeill Jr., a Cheyenne man with an extensive criminal record, is back in custody after reportedly stealing a Shark vacuum and a Skullcandy speaker from Walmart, a store from which he was previously banned. The items were valued at nearly $600.
Police said the incident occurred on July 31, with Walmart’s asset protection team identifying McNeill from surveillance footage. McNeill had been banned from all Walmart properties in 2023 following a trespass notice.
Cheyenne police charged McNeill with burglary and fifth-or-subsequent-conviction theft, both felonies carrying potential sentences of up to 10 years.
This arrest adds to McNeill’s already long list of legal issues. Just a week earlier, on July 24, he was caught on camera allegedly concealing $500 worth of Gucci frames at the Cheyenne Vision Clinic. That case resulted in a felony theft charge, elevated due to his history of five or more prior theft convictions.
According to the Walmart case affidavit, McNeill has at least 11 municipal shoplifting convictions dating from 2013 to 2024, with stolen item values ranging from under $100 to more than $300. One conviction coincided with the date he received the Walmart trespass notice on Dec. 30, 2023.
In March 2024, McNeill pleaded guilty to forgery after cashing a stolen $800 check. He received a proposed two- to three-year suspended sentence with three years of probation, running consecutively with another felony theft case from October 2023, when he was arrested for allegedly stealing a Ford Excursion and claiming he did it “like Grand Theft Auto.”
McNeill is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
