Roman Neely Arrested for Attempted Murder in Hemet

Stabbing incident under investigation in Riverside County

HEMET, Calif. — A Hemet man has been arrested for attempted murder following a stabbing that occurred on June 19 in Riverside County.

Deputies responded to reports of an assault with a deadly weapon around 3 p.m. in the 45000 block of Highway 74. Upon arrival, they found a man suffering from a stab wound. The victim identified Roman Neely, 30, of Hemet, as his alleged attacker, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

Following an investigation, authorities located Neely and arrested him on charges of attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon.

Deputies also executed a search warrant at the residence where the incident took place. During the search, they recovered additional evidence related to the stabbing.

The motive for the attack and the nature of the relationship between the suspect and the victim were not disclosed by officials. The investigation remains ongoing.
