JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. — Two men are facing federal charges in connection with a major drug trafficking operation in Jefferson County.
LaNicholas Demarco Rollins and Sammuel Dewayne Gulley appeared in federal court on Friday, according to ABC 33/40.
Court records show that Rollins was sentenced to time served for two counts, meaning he has already served the full duration of his pretrial incarceration. He was also given a three-year term of supervised release, ordered to pay a $200 assessment fee, and subject to criminal forfeiture, with a separate order to be issued.
Rollins is accused in a federal indictment unsealed in April of conspiring to traffic fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, marijuana, and heroin.
Gulley, another defendant in the trafficking ring, entered a guilty plea this week. The court confirmed his plea was made voluntarily, and he was remanded to U.S. Marshals custody. His sentencing and revocation hearing is scheduled for March 13, 2026, in Anniston.
Gulley was previously sentenced in 2014 for a separate heroin and cocaine trafficking operation in Birmingham. The latest indictment alleges he conspired to distribute a substance containing a detectable amount of fentanyl.
