Pratapgarh police, in a joint operation with Leelapur Police and the Special Operation Group (SOG), arrested Rohit Singh alias Rajesh (32), a resident of Raibareilly, for drug trafficking. The arrest took place near Patulaki Trisection while Singh was reportedly delivering a drug consignment.
Authorities seized 116 grams of smack worth Rs 8 lakh and 25 grams of methamphetamine (MD) valued at Rs 25 lakh, along with four mobile phones and a motorcycle. Singh was booked under Section 8/22 C of the NDPS Act.
His accomplice, Anil Kumar Singh, a resident of Antoo, managed to escape from the spot. Police have deployed two teams to ensure his apprehension. The investigation is ongoing to track the full extent of the drug network.
Senior police officials stated that this operation reflects the department’s continued efforts to curb narcotics distribution in the Pratapgarh region.
