Rohit Kumar, alias Lobhi (30), a drug trafficker from the Ghah Mandi area, was arrested by the Division A Police after a major operation. The police recovered 417 grams of heroin and Rs 22,400 in drug money from his possession. An electronic scale and a car were also seized during the operation.
The accused, who has a criminal history with three prior cases including charges under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, Arms Act, and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, was found to have also procured an arms license through forged documents.
Following the seizure, a fresh case was filed under the NDPS Act. Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar shared that the arrest followed an intelligence input about Kumar’s movements. He was waiting for his clients near the old vegetable market area. After his arrest, he was produced in court and remanded to police custody for further investigation to uncover his network and connections.
