The Delhi Police have arrested Rohit Gahlot, a 29-year-old member of the Vikas Lagarpuria gang, who had been absconding for four months in connection with an attempted murder case. The arrest took place in Murthal, Haryana, on March 3, 2025, after receiving a tip-off about his location.
According to the Delhi Police, the incident occurred on October 30, 2024, when a man was shot during a birthday celebration in the Najafgarh area of Delhi. The attack was allegedly carried out by members of the Vikas Lagarpuria gang, including Rohit Gahlot, Dhara alias Dhare, Amit alias Mitta, and Sandeep alias Billa, who shot the victim to establish their dominance in the area.
Satish Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime), confirmed the involvement of Gahlot and other gang members in the crime. After four months on the run, Gahlot was arrested following an intelligence-led operation by the police. During the arrest, authorities recovered two pistols and three live bullets from his possession.
The police have assured that further investigations are ongoing, and Gahlot is set to face legal proceedings for his role in the crime.
