On October 4, the Commissioner’s Task Force (North Zone), in coordination with the Market Police, arrested two individuals involved in the theft of Rs 30 lakh from a gold refinery in Secunderabad.

The suspects, Rohan Kadam (20) and Muzammil Baligar (21), are originally from Kindavadi, Satara, Maharashtra. Kadam resides in Secunderabad, while Baligar also hails from the same town. The police recovered Rs 29.92 lakh, a Maruti Swift car used in the crime, and two mobile phones, all valued at approximately Rs 35 lakh.

The theft took place on October 3 when the owner of Jyothirling Refinery entrusted Kadam with 400 grams of gold to deliver to SM Jewellery in Secunderabad and return with the cash. However, Kadam, allegedly with a premeditated plan, delivered the gold but failed to return with the payment. Instead, he and his accomplices, including absconding suspects Pruthviraj Salunkhe and Prasanth, fled the city with the cash in the Maruti Swift.

Within 24 hours of the incident, Kadam and Baligar were apprehended. The operation was led by Inspector K Saidulu and his team, including SIs P Gnanadeep and Srinivasulu Dasu, along with Inspector P Raghavender from the Market Police Station.
