In a shocking incident in Vignana Nagar, Bangalore, a 33-year-old man, Rohan Chandra Bhat, was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly fatally stabbing his parents. The victims have been identified as retired Navy Captain Naveen Chandra Bhat (60) and dentist Dr. Shyamala Bhat (55). Both succumbed to their injuries despite being rushed to Manipal Hospital.
Authorities report that the alleged attack was motivated by a family dispute. A neighbor’s complaint prompted the registration of a murder case at HAL Police Station. The exact motive behind the violent act remains under investigation.
The bodies have been sent to Bowring Hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination, pending the arrival of the couple’s daughter from the United States. The accused, Rohan Chandra Bhat, is expected to appear in court shortly as police continue probing the case.
