BALTIMORE (WBFF) — Police have arrested and charged three men in connection with the murder of 15-year-old John Lewis following a fatal shooting in East Baltimore on May 7.
The suspects have been identified as:
Rodsheead Alexander, 34
Zion Wimbish, 19
Ra’Shawn Smith, 19
At approximately 6:00 p.m., officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 3500 block of Brehms Lane. Upon arrival, Smith was found with gunshot wounds to his leg.
Shortly after, police stopped a vehicle at Mannasota and Brendan Avenues, where they discovered John Lewis inside, also suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to a nearby hospital, but Lewis succumbed to his injuries.
Following an investigation, authorities determined that Alexander, Wimbish, and Smith were all involved in the incident and would face first-degree murder charges.
Alexander and Wimbish were transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility, while Smith—after being released from the hospital—was also taken into custody and charged.
The motive for the shooting has not been publicly disclosed. Police are continuing their investigation.
