Odessa Man Arrested for Auto Burglary and Gun Theft
ODESSA, Texas — Odessa police have arrested 20-year-old Rocky Junior Gonzales after connecting him to several vehicle burglaries and gun thefts.
Officers encountered Gonzales early on October 16, 2025, in the 1700 block of E. 53rd St., wearing dark clothing, a mask, gloves, and a beanie cap. During the encounter, police found two handguns and marijuana in his possession.
Investigators later determined one of the handguns had been stolen from a vehicle in the 1100 block of Douglas Dr. Surveillance footage reportedly showed Gonzales taking the firearm from a truck and attempting to open other vehicles in the area.
Gonzales has been charged with Possession of Marijuana (Class B Misdemeanor) and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon (3rd Degree Felony). Authorities plan to issue additional warrants for Burglary of a Vehicle (Class A Misdemeanor) and Theft of a Firearm (State Jail Felony).
The Odessa Police Department urged residents to keep their firearms and vehicles secured to help prevent future thefts.
