LOGAN COUNTY, W.Va. — West Virginia State Police say a theft investigation in Logan County was solved after troopers followed tire tracks that led directly to the suspects and the stolen property.
Troopers responded to a theft report along Kelly Hollow Road in the Blair area of Logan County. During the investigation, officers located tire tracks believed to be connected to the crime and followed them to the Laurel Hollow area, where they discovered a vehicle occupied by James Russell Robinson and Jason Akers, authorities said.
After locating the suspects, troopers continued tracking the tire marks and recovered the stolen property. Investigators said the victim reported losses totaling nearly $5,000.
According to West Virginia State Police, Robinson was charged with multiple offenses, including breaking and entering, while Akers was charged with conspiracy in connection with the theft.
Both men were taken into custody as the investigation concluded. Troopers noted that evidence gathered at the scene played a key role in identifying the suspects.
Officials emphasized that all charges are allegations and that both suspects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
