RESTON, Va. — Detectives from the Reston Police Criminal Investigations Division, alongside Reston District officers, have charged seven individuals involved in an organized retail theft ring that stole over $20,000 worth of merchandise from the Home Depot on Reston Parkway.
On July 19 at 4:51 p.m., officers responded to a reported shoplifting at the 1600 block of Reston Parkway. Home Depot Loss Prevention identified multiple suspects stealing merchandise. Roberto Hernandez Cruz, 27, of Ashburn, was immediately arrested at the scene. Detectives took over the investigation from there.
Working closely with Home Depot Asset Protection, investigators uncovered a theft crew involving Hernandez Cruz and six others linked to over 20 thefts from the same store dating back to June 2024. The group repeatedly stole various tools during their visits.
The suspects and their charges include:
Cristian Rivas Tiquiram, 24 (no fixed address): Twelve counts petit larceny, eight counts grand larceny, four counts larceny with intent to sell, conspiracy to commit organized retail theft. Held without bond.
Roberto Hernandez Cruz, 27 (Ashburn): Four counts grand larceny, three counts petit larceny, two counts larceny with intent to sell. Released on $6,500 bond.
Diego Canjura Ramirez, 18 (no fixed address): Two counts petit larceny, two counts grand larceny, larceny with intent to sell. Released on $2,500 bond.
Junior Gonzalez Coello, 30 (Herndon): Two counts grand larceny, two counts petit larceny. Released on $17,000 bond.
Leslie Argueta Medina, 23 (Herndon): Grand larceny, larceny with intent to sell, conspiracy to commit larceny. Held on $1,000 bond.
Cristian Hernandez Mejia, 39 (Herndon): Four counts grand larceny, two counts larceny with intent to sell. Held without bond.
Unnamed 17-year-old juvenile: Two counts petit larceny.
