GASTONIA, N.C. — A Gastonia man was arrested Monday on rape and kidnapping charges stemming from York County, South Carolina.
According to the Gastonia Police Department, officers worked alongside the Gaston County Police Department and the US Marshals Carolinas Regional Fugitive Task Force to apprehend Robert Lee Tallent, 40, outside a residence.
Tallent was wanted by the York County Sheriff’s Office on the following charges:
Rape with a Weapon
Second-Degree Kidnapping
Domestic Violence with a Weapon
High Crime Domestic Violence
“We would like to recognize the continued commitment to community safety by all parties involved,” Gastonia police said.
Tallent was booked into the Gaston County Jail and is awaiting extradition to York County, South Carolina.
