Robert Nuccio Arrested for $100,000 Identity Theft in Dover
Dover, DE – The Dover Police Department arrested Robert Nuccio, a 56-year-old man from Spotswood, New Jersey, on charges of identity theft and theft after he allegedly stole over $100,000 from a victim’s account. Nuccio attempted to withdraw funds at Citizens Bank on North DuPont Highway on August 28, 2024, after prior fraudulent withdrawals had already occurred.
The Dover Police were first alerted to the situation when a fraudulent withdrawal of more than $170,000 was scheduled from the victim’s account. An investigation revealed that over $100,000 had already been stolen using fake identification. The suspect was described as a white male with gray hair and a thin build, which matched the description of Nuccio.
Police set up surveillance at the bank, and at approximately 3:05 p.m. on August 28, Nuccio entered the bank and attempted to withdraw additional funds. He was immediately arrested at the scene. Nuccio faces multiple charges including theft, identity theft, and criminal impersonation, as well as additional charges related to his victim being over the age of 62.
Nuccio is currently being held at Sussex Correctional Institution on a $132,000 cash bail. He faces the following charges:
Theft over $100,000 with a victim over 62 years old
Attempt to commit theft over $100,000 with a victim over 62 years old
Identity theft
Forgery in the third degree
Criminal impersonation
