GRANITE CITY, IL — Two Granite City men are facing domestic battery charges in separate, unrelated cases filed on the same day, according to the Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office.
Robert L. Moore, 55
On June 9, 2025, Robert L. Moore, 55, was charged with:
Aggravated domestic battery (Class 2 felony)
Domestic battery (Class A misdemeanor)
The charges stem from a June 6 incident where Moore allegedly struck a household member in the eye and strangled them during a verbal dispute. A petition to deny Moore’s pretrial release notes that he threatened to kill the victim, and the victim’s injuries were consistent with the reported assault.
The petition also revealed Moore has a pending domestic battery case in St. Clair County involving the same victim, as well as a criminal history with multiple battery convictions dating back to 1996.
Moore remains in custody at the Madison County Jail.
David S. Campbell, 41
In a separate case also filed June 9, David S. Campbell, 41, faces the same set of charges: aggravated domestic battery and domestic battery.
Campbell is accused of slamming a door into the face of a family member on April 16, 2025, causing a mouth laceration and damage to the residence’s front door.
Campbell was granted pretrial release, though the State’s Attorney’s Office has filed a motion to impose additional conditions on that release.
Both cases were investigated and presented by the Granite City Police Department.
