THORNTON, Colo. — Robert McClain, 55, was arrested Monday in connection with the 2003 stabbing murder of Rosa Arguello in Thornton.
Arguello, 29, a member of the Hopi Tribe, was found dead in a field on Quebec Street in October 2003. An autopsy revealed she had been stabbed multiple times.
The Dubuque Police Department in Iowa apprehended McClain on a warrant for Arguello’s murder. Arrangements are underway to extradite him to Colorado for prosecution, the Thornton Police Department confirmed.
Thornton Police Chief Jim Baird expressed gratitude toward Dubuque PD and pledged ongoing collaboration with the 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office to seek justice for Arguello and her family.
