GOGEBIC COUNTY, Mich. – A 30-year-old man is in custody after a high-speed police chase spanning approximately 50 miles across Gogebic County and the Iron Range area.
According to the Gogebic County Sheriff’s Office, officers were attempting to stop a vehicle reported stolen in Ironwood on Friday when the suspect fled, initiating a pursuit involving multiple law enforcement agencies.
The suspect has been identified as Robert Ganz-Brown Jr., a resident of Superior. Authorities say Ganz-Brown led officers through several towns before the chase was brought to an end with the deployment of stop sticks.
After stopping the vehicle, Ganz-Brown reportedly fled on foot but was quickly subdued with a taser and arrested.
He is currently being held in the Gogebic County Jail on a $100,000 cash bond and is facing a total of 12 charges, including:
4 counts of Fleeing Police (Third Degree)
4 counts of Assault/Resisting/Obstructing Police
2 counts of Throwing Objects at Vehicles
1 count of Receiving and Concealing Stolen Property – Motor Vehicle
1 count of Reckless Driving
The case remains under investigation by local authorities.
