WATFORD, Ont. – The man at the center of a massive classic car theft and fraud case in Ontario is now behind bars.

Robert Bradshaw was arrested on October 9 after multiple warrants were issued for his arrest. He remains in custody and is expected to return to court on October 16 for a bail hearing, followed by a joint appearance with his co-accused on October 17.

The case began in 2023, when Larry Grogan, a Watford businessman, told the Lambton OPP that about 160 classic cars he had purchased for his new dealership never arrived. Bradshaw had allegedly been sourcing the vehicles for him.

In May 2025, police raided a storage facility near Belleville, recovering 16 stolen classic cars that were later returned to Grogan.

Investigators allege Bradshaw and co-accused Gary LeBlanc, Michael McCrory, and Charlotte Johnston, 53, forged ownership documents to resell the stolen vehicles. The group faces charges including theft, fraud, using forged documents, and conspiracy in Belleville court.

Johnston pleaded guilty earlier to uttering a forged document and was sentenced to nine months of house arrest.

Bradshaw had missed two previous court appearances after his uncle, Jack Bradshaw, 77, withdrew as his bail surety, leading to new warrants for his arrest.

Following the initial arrests, the OPP began seizing cars that Grogan had paid for but were later sold to unsuspecting buyers. Dozens of classic car owners have since lost their vehicles without reimbursement. Grogan has filed a civil claim seeking to reclaim ownership of the cars so he can resell them legally.
