ROBBINS, N.C. – A 26-year-old woman from Robbins has been jailed without bond, facing a first-degree murder charge in connection with the death of her 18-month-old child. Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields reported that authorities received a call on May 30 about an unresponsive child at a residence on Spies Road.
Upon arrival, emergency responders transported the child to Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst, where she was pronounced dead shortly after.
Sheriff Fields stated that investigators discovered the child’s mother, Princess Jasmine McAllister, had left the toddler unattended for several hours and had provided false information to authorities regarding the circumstances of the child’s death. Consequently, McAllister was initially charged with felony child abuse, child neglect, and resisting a public officer.
Following a thorough investigation, on June 7, 2024, sheriff’s investigators charged McAllister with first-degree murder after gathering additional evidence indicating that she intentionally caused the child’s death.
McAllister is set to appear in court on June 12 and is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
