A 31-year-old woman from Robbins, North Carolina, is facing several felony charges after allegedly stealing more than $10,000 from a Burlington retail store in Aberdeen, where she was employed.
The Aberdeen Police Department arrested Amonie Owens on June 19 after an internal theft investigation was launched based on a report from store management. According to police, surveillance video captured Owens accessing the store’s safe and removing a substantial amount of cash.
Authorities confirmed that more than $10,000 was stolen in the incident. Owens was swiftly identified and taken into custody the same day.
She is now facing multiple charges, including:
Safecracking
Larceny by employee
Felony possession of stolen goods
Obtaining property by false pretenses
Possession of burglary tools
Misdemeanor possession of stolen property
Injury to personal property
Owens was brought before a Moore County magistrate and received a $50,000 secured bond. She remains innocent until proven guilty in court.
