LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WACH) — R’Mani Jy’Mere Holloway, 26, of Gaston, has been sentenced to five years in federal prison after pleading guilty to possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.

On February 9, 2023, deputies from the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department arrested Holloway on outstanding state warrants related to probation violations. During the arrest, authorities found a loaded .45 caliber handgun, 16.12 grams of N-Dimethylpentylone (MDMA), ammunition, and digital scales inside Holloway’s car.

A search of his hotel room revealed additional ammunition and gang-related artwork. At the time of this arrest, Holloway was serving probation for a previous firearm-related conviction.

Holloway’s criminal history includes prior convictions for third-degree burglary, third-degree domestic violence, public disorderly conduct, and discharging a firearm into a dwelling. Due to his prior felony convictions, he is legally prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition.

In addition to his five-year federal sentence, Holloway will serve a three-year term of court-ordered supervision after completing five months in prison.

This case was investigated by the FBI Columbia Field Office, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), and the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department.
