Kodigehalli police on Tuesday arrested two individuals for robbing a 35-year-old Cameroon national who had arrived in India for prostate cancer treatment.

The accused have been identified as Rizwan Pasha (23), an autorickshaw driver, and Kruthik Preetham (24), an employee at a mobile phone store. According to police, the robbery occurred on the morning of April 27 near a supermarket on Outer Ring Road.

The victim, who was residing in a rented house in Bhadrappa Layout, was accosted by two scooter-borne men. Brandishing a knife, the suspects threatened him, and despite the victim’s attempt to escape, they overpowered him and fled with a bag containing over Rs1.1 lakh, his passport, and crucial medical documents.

Acting on leads, police tracked the suspects down the next day near Govindapura Circle. Officers found them in a lodge accompanied by women. They also seized the scooter used in the crime, which was parked near Manyata Tech Park.

Police recovered Rs86,000 in cash along with the victim’s passport and documents. Both suspects have been remanded to judicial custody.
