RIVERSIDE, Calif. — A 21-year-old man from Lake Hills was arrested early Thursday morning after allegedly attacking his father with a machete, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

The suspect, Collin Adam Stewart, was taken into custody after deputies responded to a 911 call from the victim at around 2:30 a.m. on April 18, 2025. The incident occurred at the father’s home on the 1600 block of Jordana Circle, just outside Riverside.

The father told authorities that his son had assaulted him with a machete and fled the scene. Deputies responding to the area located a man matching the suspect’s description at the intersection of La Sierra Avenue and McAllister Parkway, where Stewart was arrested without incident.

The victim was transported to a local hospital. Authorities said his injuries were serious but not life-threatening.

Investigators later executed a search warrant at the residence and recovered evidence and the alleged weapon involved in the attack.

Stewart was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center and is facing charges including attempted murder.

The investigation is ongoing, and officials have not released additional details regarding a possible motive.
