The body of 16-year-old Ritu Kumar, a Class VIII student, was found with a bullet wound near Nahar Road under Mehsaul police station on Wednesday. A resident of Bhisa village, Ritu had reportedly gone out after receiving a call from friends on Tuesday night and did not return. Police suspect the killing may be linked to an old family feud. No arrests have been made yet.
In a separate case, two bike lifters were arrested on Wednesday under Sursand police station, Nagar Parishad ward 13, Sitamarhi district. The accused, Arvind Kumar and Arvind Prasad, hail from Mohattari district, Nepal, and allegedly stole a motorcycle belonging to Dr Jitendra Prasad from his residence. The stolen bike was recovered, and police are investigating the theft case to trace other stolen vehicles and accomplices.
