Police have conducted multiple raids across the district, seizing narcotics and arresting five individuals in separate operations.
The Bullowal police arrested Ritik, a resident of Sham Churasi, and recovered banned tablets from his possession. In a similar action, the Chabbewal police apprehended Balveer of Chabbewal with prohibited tablets. During interrogation, Balveer disclosed that he had procured the tablets from Tajinder Singh of Sarangowal, who has now been named in the case.
In another operation, city police arrested Vivek Adiya of Bassi Khabaju during routine patrolling and recovered a large quantity of banned tablets. The Bullowal police also arrested Rakesh Kumar of Haidrowal with prohibited tablets in his possession.
Separately, the Garhshankar police arrested Dalip Kumar of Bakapur and seized 9,000 ml of illicit liquor from him.
Police have registered cases under relevant sections of the NDPS Act and Excise Act. Further investigations are underway to trace the supply network and identify additional suspects.
