LAREDO, Tex. — The Webb County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit, working with the DEA, arrested 27-year-old Rigoberto DeLeon on multiple drug and weapons charges following a search warrant execution on September 16.

Officers searched a residence on the 400 block of Garcia St. and found DeLeon present. Authorities seized 128.9 grams of black tar heroin valued at $3,000, 14.8 grams of cocaine worth $250, two Taurus 9mm pistols, and 151 rounds of assorted ammunition.

DeLeon was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance and a felony possession of heroin charge. As DeLeon was on federal probation at the time, the ATF was involved, leading to additional federal weapons violation charges.

DeLeon is an active member of the Tango Valluco gang. He remains in Webb County Jail without bond pending magistration.

Sheriff Martin Cuellar noted that the residence is within 1,000 feet of an elementary school, designating it a drug-free zone—a factor that will impact prosecution.
