Rifleman Claudius Scott Leads Drug Ring at Wiltshire Base, Jailed

Sold £100k worth of cocaine over three years, bought designer items

by Amelia Crawford

Rifleman Claudius Scott, the ringleader of a group of British soldiers, was sentenced to four years and one month in prison for orchestrating a cocaine distribution operation at a Wiltshire military base. The court heard that Scott, along with three other members of the 5th Battalion, the Rifles, sold nearly £100,000 worth of cocaine to fellow military personnel over the course of nearly three years.

The drugs were sourced from west London, with one kilogram being sold at Bulford camp in Wiltshire. The soldiers used the profits to buy designer goods, exploiting their positions within the military for personal gain. Scott was described as the “initiator and leader” of the operation, and his sentence reflects the severity of his actions. The group’s illegal activities have now resulted in prison terms for all involved.
