RIDGECREST, Calif. — Two men were arrested following a police pursuit that ended in a major narcotics seizure, the Ridgecrest Police Department reported.

On October 1, 2025, officers surveilling a suspected drug house on the 300 block of N. Alvord Street observed 61-year-old Brian Jay Sanders leaving the residence on a dirt bike. When officers attempted to stop him, Sanders fled through city streets. He later abandoned the bike near N. Brady Street and W. Weiman Avenue, where he was apprehended with fentanyl allegedly in his possession. One officer sustained moderate injuries during the pursuit and was treated and released from a local hospital.

Investigators obtained a search warrant for the Alvord Street property, where they reportedly recovered approximately 3/4 of a pound of methamphetamine, 1/4 of a pound of fentanyl, and more than $12,000 in cash.

The second suspect, 59-year-old Timothy Johnson, was found inside the residence and admitted to selling narcotics. Both Sanders and Johnson were transported to the Lerdo Detention Facility, booked without incident, and face multiple charges.

The Ridgecrest Police Department emphasized that the operation highlights ongoing efforts to combat illegal narcotics distribution in the community.
