Rickey Martin and Kentravious Holmes Escape Sumter County Jail
Authorities in southwest Georgia are conducting a manhunt after two inmates escaped from the Sumter County Jail late Sunday.
The escape occurred around 9:30 p.m., according to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. The inmates, Rickey Martin, 20, and Kentravious Holmes, 21, were both being held on serious felony charges including murder, aggravated assault, and aggravated battery.
Inmate Descriptions
Rickey Martin: Black male, approximately 5’4”, 120 lbs, with untwisted dreadlocks.
Kentravious Holmes: Black male, approximately 5’8”, 155 lbs, untwisted dreadlocks, with distinctive face and neck tattoos, including a dollar sign, broken heart, and the words “Baby Kay” above his right eye.
Charges and Background
Rickey Martin was charged by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation with felony murder, aggravated assault, and aggravated battery following the death of 19-year-old Jotavis Roshon Leverette in Americus.
Kentravious Holmes was arrested earlier this month in connection with the fatal shooting of Amon Kevone Harvey, 21, also in Americus.
Public Safety Notice
Multiple agencies are involved in the search, and authorities urge the public not to approach the escapees. Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office at 229-924-4094. Both men are considered extremely dangerous.
The investigation into the escape is ongoing, and further details on how the inmates fled custody have not yet been released.
