The Richard Wolfe case unfolded after the Hendersonville Police Department began investigating complaints that Wolfe, 67, of Hendersonville, was selling insurance policies without submitting required premiums. As a result, many policies were canceled without the knowledge of the victims.
Following the investigation, the case was presented to the Sumner County Grand Jury, which returned an indictment charging Wolfe with:
Theft of Property ($60,000–$250,000)
Seven counts of Theft of Property ($10,000–$60,000)
Five counts of Theft of Property ($2,500–$10,000)
Theft of Property ($1,000–$2,500)
Three counts of Forgery (over $250,000)
Money Laundering
On February 19, 2026, Hendersonville Police officers took Wolfe into custody without incident. He is currently incarcerated at the Sumner County Jail on a $100,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in criminal court on March 10, 2026.
