Richard Blanco Arrested in Del Rey Oaks Car Burglary Case

One suspect still at large after $800 theft outside Safeway

DEL REY OAKS, Calif. (KION) — A suspect has been arrested following a car burglary in Del Rey Oaks on Sunday, with a second suspect still at large.

According to the Del Rey Oaks Police Department, Richard Blanco, a resident of Salinas, was taken into custody in Marina after allegedly stealing nearly $800 worth of credit cards and personal documents from a vehicle parked outside a Safeway.

Authorities report the stolen cards were later used in attempted purchases in Salinas, after the suspects fled in a black pickup truck.

Officers in Marina located the truck and arrested Blanco on charges of Conspiracy and Accessory. The vehicle was subsequently towed from the scene.

The second suspect remains unidentified. Witnesses described the individual as wearing a plaid shirt, blue jeans, and a hat, and standing approximately 6 feet 2 inches to 6 feet 4 inches tall.
