Ricardo Gonzalez Maldonado, 28, was arrested by the Georgia State Patrol in connection with the fatal shooting of Jennifer Sanchez Solis, 19, in Wake County, North Carolina.
The shooting occurred Thursday morning in the 3000 block of Avery Street near the Auburn community. Deputies found Solis suffering from a gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities confirmed that Maldonado and Solis knew each other. He has been charged with first-degree murder.
Sheriff Willie Rowe expressed condolences to the victim’s family and praised law enforcement for their coordination across state lines to apprehend the suspect.
