Makarpura police have arrested Rekha Rathwa in connection with the murder of her fiancé, Sachin Rathwa, 23, who was found dead at her residence in the Railway Colony on December 29.
Preliminary investigations suggest that tensions in the couple’s relationship escalated after Sachin suspected Rekha of having an affair. The duo, who met on Instagram three years ago, had been engaged since last year and were living together. Rekha worked as a railway helper, while Sachin was a driver.
According to Makarpura police inspector A M Gohil, the incident occurred after Sachin confronted Rekha about seeing her talking to another man. Later that night, while Sachin slept, Rekha allegedly used her dupatta to strangle him. She initially raised an alarm claiming he was unresponsive, but doctors confirmed he had been strangled.
Rekha initially denied involvement but later confessed during interrogation. Police are investigating whether she acted alone or had assistance. A murder case has been registered, and further investigation is ongoing.
