BEE & LIVE OAK COUNTIES, TEXAS – The 156th Judicial District Attorney’s Office has announced the conviction and sentencing of three individuals in separate cases of child sexual abuse and exploitation, including a life sentence for one offender.

On July 31, Raynaldo Barrera was convicted in Bee County of two counts of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child and one count of Possession of Child Pornography. The crimes occurred between December 2022 and February 2024. District Attorney Tiffany McWilliams led the prosecution, and Judge Starr Bauer imposed life imprisonment for each first-degree felony, plus 10 years for the pornography charge. A lifetime protective order was issued to protect the child victim.

On August 7, also in Bee County, Robert Lynn Blucher was convicted of Indecency with a Child by Contact for a March 2024 incident. Judge Patrick Flanigan sentenced him to 15 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, with a lifetime protective order granted for the child victim.

In Live Oak County on August 25, David Scott Hunter, a former Freer ISD teacher, was found guilty of Possession of Child Pornography and three counts of Indecency with a Child by Exposure. Prosecuted by First Assistant D.A. Michelle Craig, Hunter received 30 years for the primary charge and eight years for each third-degree felony. He also received a lifetime protective order.

“These convictions represent not only the diligence and commitment of our prosecutors and law enforcement partners, but most importantly, the bravery of the child victims and their families,” said D.A. McWilliams.

She added: “These outcomes underscore our unwavering commitment to protecting vulnerable victims and ensuring justice is served. The 156th Judicial District Attorney’s Office will continue to prioritize child protection and survivor support with integrity and compassion.”
