A 42-year-old York City man, Raymond Artagnan Mendoza-Melendez, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault after allegedly punching a nurse at WellSpan York Hospital.
The incident occurred just after 11 a.m. Thursday when Mendoza-Melendez reportedly picked up a chair and threatened to break a window. According to court documents, two nurses attempted to escort him to another room, but he resisted and allegedly punched one nurse in the chest.
Mendoza-Melendez was restrained to a bed until police arrived. He faces aggravated assault and summary harassment charges. He posted $7,500 bond on Friday and was released. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for December 10.
